Five ways with… breadcrumbs: This time it’s meatballs!

Stop throwing out that stale bread and treat yourself to some breadcrumbs!

Breadcrumbs – so simple, so often thrown away and wasted… but just look at the wonderful, crummy (in the best possible sense of the word!) treats that you’re missing out on.

Number 2 – Meatballs

Meatballs are one of those odd phenomenons, where the name sounds pretty unappealing frankly.  I mean ‘meat balls‘ – really? There must be a more inspiring name than that?   Maybe ‘lamb lumps’? ‘Beef bites’? No?  Ok, fair enough… back to the drawing board.

Other foods I would put in this category are ‘faggots’ and ‘meat loaf’.. pretty uninspiring.

However, the truth of the matter is, meatballs are really rather yummy AND a great way to put your stale bread to use, in the form of…you’ve guessed it… breadcrumbs!

My favourite meatball recipe is one of Jamie’s – a bit different from the standard, with a gorgeous cheesy centre.  Give it a go!
